Yin yoga is a practice of long-held floor poses that deeply nourish physically, energetically, and emotionally. This practice cultivates a sense of calm, ease, and inner stillness while promoting circulation in your muscles and tissues. Yin has roots in Taoist yoga and the theory of the meridians. In this practice, we will focus on moving energy through the heart and small intestine meridians, which are located in the torso, and through the arms. In other words, there will be plenty of shoulder and chest opening poses. When energy is balanced here, metabolism is strong, thoughts are clear, and happiness, love, and joy are abundant. You feel alive!
In order to continue to fully enjoy the vibrant energy of summer, we need to maintain balance in our schedules and lives. Yin and Yang. This practice is a great way to balance the excess heat and activity.
Everyone will receive a sample of lavender essential oil to use throughout the practice. Lavender essential oil, just like most floral oils, is cooling and calming. It has a myriad of benefits, including promoting a restful night’s sleep and soothing skin irritations, including burns. Lavender is one of the most popular and beloved essential oils.
