Coping with food is at an all-time high as we handle the stress, uncertainly, and isolation of the Covid-19 pandemic. The pandemic may be going away, but stress will not - so it is important to find a healthier way to cope.

If you have ever thought or said any of the following:

"I had such a long day; I deserve this treat." "I am so good all day, and then once the kids go to bed, I just snack and snack." "I can't wait for my cheat day." "I used to be healthier, but I have been so stressed lately."

I hear you! Spira has partnered with Liz Wyosnick MS, RDN, also a Spira yogi, for a joint workshop and yoga class to learn all about emotional eating:

  •  why it may be written in our neurological pathways
  • what to do about it
  • how to break the cycle and how mindfulness can change your life.

The workshop will start with Dora outlining some basic concepts on mindfulness and stress management, and how it relates to making food choices. Then Liz with take over and give you valuable tools to combat emotional eating; she will use her knowledge as a nutritionist while Dora will chime in with mindfulness tools. The second half of the workshop will be an easy yoga flow class directed towards inner-self discovery; yoga teaches emotional and physical awareness. The tools learned in yoga class can become phycological anchors throughout the day to help you make better food choices.
